Client Accounting Services (Part-Time Position)

This professional will perform client write-up and small business services, compilation reporting, and payroll preparation.  This position requires an individual who is personable and able to communicate well with clients and staff.

The job will require bookkeeping (GAAP knowledge a plus), accounts payable, preparation of travel expense reports, reimbursement reports, bank reconciliations, payroll and payroll tax deposits, sales tax filings, quarterly payroll tax forms, and QuickBooks knowledge. Other accounting software knowledge is a plus. Trust accounting experience also a plus, but not required. The position will also assist with special projects, depending on firm needs.

The ideal candidate will have at least a 2 or 4 year degree in accounting or equivalent experience as a bookkeeper or controller. Five plus years in a public accounting firm or similar capacity is preferred. Experience with the Thomson Reuters suite of Tax and Accounting products will be given preference. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and posses strong computer skills.

Staff Accountant – Tax

The staff accountant position will prepare tax returns under the supervision of a manager and partner. The ideal candidate is proactive, team-oriented, works well in a fast paced environment and has strong interpersonal skills.

Specifically, a staff accountant will complete individual, corporate, partnership and fiduciary tax returns of varying complexity under supervision. The position will require performing these services within the budgeted time allotted. The candidate should possess strong tax research skills, including the ability to find answers to common tax question on their own. The candidate will need to understand and agree to the firm’s ethics and personal conduct policy, as well as the AICPA’s code of professional conduct.

The position will also prepare quarterly and year-end estimates for clients, draft letters in response to IRS and state tax notices, work with client’s trial balances and make adjusting journal entries and demonstrate strong client communication skills.

Candidates with knowledge of the Thomson Reuters Tax and Accounting suite of software programs will be given preference, but experience with any professional tax and accounting software is a plus.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Pursuing a CPA certification is required but candidates that have already attainted their CPA certification will be given preference. The position also requires strong oral and written communication skills, analytical and judgment skills, skills and significant experience with Microsoft Office.
